Customer Reviews

What's in a song?

The meaning held in each of these songs representing Chinese styles of music, in film, as narration techniques, commentary techniques, description of the characters is absolutely fantastic. The meaning behind the sounds is great as well. Especially in Songlian's Madness. How in the beginning there is the fast pasted Peking Opera which was used to get the attention of the Opera's audience is also used in the movie for the same reason. This is absolutely phenomenal music and it was a fantastic film.

Absolutely brilliant!

If you enjoyed this movie, then you'll enjoy this album. Both work so brilliantly together. The music lends so well to the cinematography, as if nothing could have been more appropriate. A must have album if this film tops your favorites list.
