The soundtrack added a sense of creeping fear to the dark corridors of the "dead" ship lost in space. Really the soundtrack made the movie work because of the very intense and surprise moments that were consistant throughout the film. Michl Britsch was able to help pull the movie together with the loud sythesis sounds and the shrill echoes of what a dead space would be like. All together the movie is excellent and the soundtrack gives the movie the life to make it shocking, emotional, and a simple edge of the seat pull in.

Good work by a very talented artist. Movie was ok, but the Music was the best character in that film, thanks to him. Hope to see him do some more mainstream work so he can get his name out there a be known.

Michl Britsch. A new master of scoring.

The movie was interesting and had some excellent elements but was also flawed in some areas. Be that as it may, one of its better attributes was the score by the intriguing Michl Britsch who has crafted something that is no less than amazing. It has become my favorite soundtrack with its blend of traditional orchestral arrangements mixed with modern keyboard/guitar/percussion parts that heighten the dark, unsettling atmospheric nature of the piece. It flawlessly shifts from aggressive to serene moods and melodies, managing to cover a full spectrum of emotions that at times suggests an ever darker, more foreboding film. The movie definitely succeeds in certain parts which are nicely underscored by Britsch's almost otherworldy compositions but is also guilty of perhaps not going as far as the music, when listened to by itself, suggests. It really is epic and playing it loud is an unequivocal must. One needs not be hesitant in claiming that this is a soundtrack that sits easily alongside its masterpiece forebears such as Bernard Hermann's Psycho, Vangelis' Blade Runner and the scores to the first three Alien films.
