The James Horner

A nice collection of the man's work. Too bad he hit his prime ten years ago. James Horner has not produced an original piece of music for quite some time now. It's sad really but I guess at some point the well has to run dry. Sure Apollo 13 is great (A_Noying) but not that great, he's got better. Although he does like to rip himself off from time to time. There are countless example of this, Bicentenial Man vs. A Beautiful Mind. These two scores are at times almost identical, maybe it's just me but come on! Ok I know what your thinking, but listen to other examples...Star Trek 2 vs. The Rocketeer, very, very similar themes. But Mr. Horner is not all bad, too bad some of his really nice work is missing form this album, Glory (1989), Casper (1995), Field of Dreams (1989), *batteries not included (1987), An American Tail (1986), or maybe something rare like Captain EO (1986). I you really like this music then buy the original albums, don't cheat yourself.

2 great movie scores...

I love 2 songs from this album, Apollo 13, and My heart will go on (instrumental). these songs are very amazing, and moving. James Horner is my favorite score composer.

James Horner has some really good ones here....

I personally like Braveheart, Legends of the Fall, and Willow....although there might be a better rendition of Willow by the Cincinnati pops (the flute-like instrument seems too over the top in this version, not like in the movie), and I purchased the Braveheart end title from the actual Braveheart soundtrack....
