This album's rich interplay between vocalization and a wide range of instruments creates a sense that is much larger and reverberating than you would expect from a two man band. This album probably recieved around 30 straight plays in my car and I was still appreciating subtleties of the songs' compositions. For such an introspective composition, largely focusing on a breakup, the sheer beauty of the music raises the listener's perception from one of hopelessness to an appreciation that life and rebirth will come from the pain...this is a great listen.

Words fall short...

I was fortunate enough to see Horse Feathers live in PDX this last weekend and I have to say it's been a long time since I've been SO overwhelmed by a group's musicianship and songwriting. Just an amazing show! While a studio recording never captures the live momenet, this project comes close. Do your soul a favor and share in the trio's gift. In these times of Brittany and other pop silliness, I find solice in knowing there are those who create music because they simply love music. Besides, you gotta love a trio that have TWO members that can play the saw and play it well. :^)

Wherever you are, at whatever time, you can listen to this and feel the sun in your hair and the tickle of a cool breeze on your neck.
