kiss this

KISS is one of the most influential rock bands of all time, selling more gold albums than the Beatles (no joke--look it up). This album is worth every penny, even for those like me that own every album before it. Good stuff!

What a KISS compilation deserves

I have been one of the biggest KISS fans on this planet ever since I was eleven years old,and it is great to see the release of "Gold:KISS 1974-1982". While this record may miss out on KISS' latter day hit songs, ranging from "Lick It Up" to "Forever",it is really good for what it is. What you have here is the KISS anthology album, which spans the entire career of KISS from 1974 up to 1982 (minus the remake of "Strutter" off of the "Double Platinum" compilation from 1978 that was entitled "Strutter '78"). All of KISS' big hits from the 70's,such as the live version of "Rock and Roll All Nite" and "Beth",as well as underrated KISS tracks such as "Parasite" and "C'mon and Love Me",all made their way on here, which helps make this compilation totally complete and as excellent as it turned out to be. What harcore KISS fans will notice about this compilation is that the KISS tracks that were included here were arranged in chronological order, which does an excellent job at showing what KISS were about from day one of their career, and how their career changed over the years, following the releases of the classic KISS albums "Destroyer","Dynasty","Unmasked", and (Music From)"The Elder" (don't forget the songs entitled "Nowhere to Run" and "I'm a Legend Tonight",which were included here, and were originally written and recorded for KISS' infamous "Killers" compilation from 1982). The sound on all of the songs that were included on this CD were digitally remastered and sound better than ever, and while this compilation wasn't really needed (considering the fact that nine KISS compilations have seen the light of day,one of which happens to be this album!!!),it is an excellent represenation of KISS,and is what a KISS compilation deserves. An excellent present for new/casual KISS fans, and a nice treat for both nostalgia and good times for old/hardcore KISS fans.

This album is worth gold!

If you like KISS this is your kind of album.Trust me,I own it

Biography

Formed: 1973 in New York, NY

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s

Rooted in the campy theatrics of Alice Cooper and the sleazy hard rock of glam rockers the New York Dolls, Kiss became a favorite of American teenagers in the '70s. Most kids were infatuated with the look of Kiss, not their music. Decked out in outrageously flamboyant costumes and makeup, the band fashioned a captivating stage show featuring dry ice, smoke bombs, elaborate lighting, blood spitting, and fire breathing that captured the imaginations of thousands of kids. But Kiss' music shouldn't be...
