What's not to like?

It's about time this made it to the U.S. and how nice of iTunes to release my favorite album on my birthday! Music has always been a major part of my life and this album is just one of those I couldn't live without. I discovered The Maccabees a couple of months ago and haven't been able to stop listening to them since. From their catchy lyrics, to their variety in style, this is definitely an album everyone can enjoy. The number of diverse strangers that ask me about this band as I play them in my car is unbelievable. This band has been described as, "Having the aggression of the Arctic Monkeys and the jittery beats of The Futureheads," but I personally believe The Maccabees have their own unique style that separates them from all the other unoriginal bands out there, which start with The. I promise you that this band will exceed your expectations and that this album will immediately turn you into a fan. Hopefully this review convinced you to give this band a chance and please don't take your precious time about buying this album.

Fantastic, A must buy Albulm!

One of the best Albulms of the year, every song is great. You wont regret buying it ;)

The Most Beautiful Sore Thumb I'd ever Seen!

Great first album from this U.K. band! Not to be confused with the other band on Itunes also named The Maccabees. No these guys are actually good! For fans of Bloc Party, Futureheads, Maximo Park and The Cribs. This album is full of catchy songs. I haven't been able to get About Your Dress out of my head since I first heard it. Other stand out tracks are X-Ray, Latchmere, Precious Time, First Love and Toothpaste Kisses. $8 bucks for a great album, you can't go wrong.

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Hailing from South London, kinetic indie rockers the Maccabees formed in 2004 around vocalist Orlando Weeks, guitarists Hugo and Felix White, bassist Rupert Jarvis, and drummer Robert Dylan Thomas. The group's first single, "X-Ray," was released on Promise Records in November of 2005, and thanks to a strong XFM-Radio showing, the Maccabees were able to garner opening spots on an Arctic Monkeys tour. Fierce Panda picked up the second single, "Latchmere," issuing it in the spring of 2006. The band's...
