Feeding the Wolves-Exceptional

I saw 10 Years at the Carnival of Madness on friday, and the only thing bad about them was i wish they wouldve played more songs!!
but after that, i bought this C.D. (last copy at the show!!! :D) and on the 4 hour drive home, i didnt stop listening to it. Its so good
1. Shoot it Out- not amazing, but not bad, nothing to go crazy about-3/5
2. The Wicked Ones- Really good chorus, but the verses didn't intrigue me-3.5/5
3. Now is the Time (Ravenous)- Awesome riff, did'nt like it at first, but it definitely grew on me, one of the harder songs-4.5/5
4. One More Day- Such an amazing song, beatiful lyrics, guitar, voice, perfect song-5/5
5. Fix Me- really good lyrics, but nothing else is REALLY eye-opening in this one-3/5
6. Chasing the Rapture- Really, really, really good song. Catchy chorus, perfect lyrics and awesome guitar-4.5/5
7. Dead in the Water- This song is so good, even the drums caught my ear. Perfect everything, my favorite on the album (along with Don't Fight it)-6/5
8. Don't Fight it- I fell in love with this song the second I heard it in my car. It's a softer song, but also catchy and really good lyrics, favorite on the album-6/5
9. Waking Up the Ghost- This song is a faster tune, also very catchy-5/5
10. Fade Into (The Ocean)- This song is breathtaking. Beautiful. Great closer. Also, i like how the song changes from soft to heavy-5/5
i didn't get the bonus tracks with the physical album, but im gonna listen to them now

Set Fame To Bait The Noose

Coming from a die-hard 10 Years fan, this album disappoints. The sound that made this band who they are on The Autumn Effect is history, tragically. They departed from that unique, dark, ethereal sound upon releasing Division and, despite promises of a return to their old sound, this album continues what Division began. Now their sound comes off as factory-made, likely in no small part due to the producer who apparently, according to iTunes, has worked with such acts as Papa Roach and The Daughtry. 10 Years used to produce a sound that you couldn't quite hear from any other band, and though they were far from popular, they were unique and created songs that were, in themselves, experiences. This album is packed with songs that are, sadly, just songs, and indeed songs that sound similar to any and every other band you will hear on modern hard rock radio stations. They gave up themselves for popularity, and this conformed their sound to be nothing more than anything else. I don't want to be the fan that decries a band for "selling out" but that is what I'm hearing here. This album is okay, and is par for the modern hard rock scene, but only because it departs from their old creativity (which made their old music extraordinary) and sounds exactly like the popular bands that displace creativity with marketability.

New Album

*sigh* another great band lost to the Three Days Grace, Nickleback, Shinedown, Papa Roach effect

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Offering a Southern take on the moody atmosphere, muscular impact, and brash dynamics of alternative metal, 10 Years were formed in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1999. Guitarist Ryan "Tater" Johnson and drummer Brian Vodinh filled out the group's first lineup with lead vocalist Mike Underdown, guitarist Matt Wantland, and bassist Lewis Cosby; in 2001, Cosby left the band and Andy Parks became 10 Years' new bassist. That same year, the group recorded and self-released an independent album, Into the Half...
