Album Review

With this two-disc collection, French house DJ Stéphane Pompougnac celebrates ten years of his compilation series Hôtel Costes by selecting the best tracks from the previous 12 volumes. This is great refresher or portable highlights collection for veteran fans, and an even better entry point for the curious. Slick, fashionable, downtempo music doesn’t have many friends better than Pompougnac, and with only the best of the best represented here, even dingy basement apartments may feel like chic lofts if this is the soundtrack.

If you have all the past albums, you already have this one!

Wait..! I'm confused! What happened? is Vol. 12 the one for 2009? The Velvet box was the perfect "Compilation" but, another one? Being a Dj I think "A decade" should be the showing of what you have learned during this time and apply it to a new list of songs! Just like the Nina Simone and Billie Holiday remakes in "Verve Remixed".
or the clearly clever collection in "L'aperitivo Italiano". Dj community was looking forward for a complete new album. We know, the music here is great, amazing for the past 10 years, but it falls in almost "boring" and "bland" since the excitement dies once you read the tracks names and realize you already have them all, just the cover is new but surprisingly steal. what happened to the girls on the covers? The new one does not represent at all the Hotel, Stephan, or the music. The girls were chic, glamourous and the face of the exclusive crowd at Costes. Don't buy it unless you are a collector. If you have all the past albums, you already have this one!

***Fantastic Work***

Stephane is pretty popular for his fantastic compilations which are a mixture of electronic and real instruments. This sounds really different compared to other compilations of the electronic genre. I would even say that Hotel Costes is not an electronic album it is something popular. Anyway - it is fantastic I if you like this album you might also like the series DOlomiti Super Chill.....another fantastic compilations series from Italy......

Check out Venice Calling!!!

Venice Calling is a great song. Very soothing sound and Jonathan Adams voice flows well with the melody. I have heard some of his other unreleased tracks and trust me, you will not be dissappointed. The more request for his music, the sooner you will hear more from this fresh new artist.
