BEWARE !! This is the REMIX. NOT THE ORIGINAL. Unfortunate.

It's not hyperbole--one of the greatest ever...

It's hard to overstate the brilliance of this unique album. It's funny, disturbing, chilling. It's a celebration and a warning. It's the ultimate skewering of the "flower power" age, but the music was so innovative that it barely feels dated today.

Zappa was one of the great innovators in music, and this is his masterpiece.

Oh, and for those who wonder: Remember, on GI Joes and other action figures back in the '60s and '70s, the groin included a little cone-shaped metal insert instead of, ummm, anatomical correctness? According to Zappa, THAT is the "Chrome-Plated Megaphone of Destiny."

The Mothers of Invention were led by composer, guitarist, singer, and bandleader Frank Zappa, a singular musical figure during a performing and recording career that lasted from the 1960s to the '90s. His disparate influences included doo wop music and avant-garde classical music; although the Mothers were called a rock & roll band for much of their years together, Zappa used them to create a hybrid style that bordered on jazz and complicated, modern serious music. As if his music were not challenging...
