Editors’ Notes

Tha Alkaholiks’ final album served up one more round of rowdy anthems to an audience that had remained faithful for almost 15 years. While the trio’s style could seem frivolous to the more uptight sections of the hip-hop establishment, “Party Ya Ass Off,” “Drink Wit Us,” and “On the Floor” affirm the timelessness of their tactics. While their peers were pulled down by petty quarrels, The Liks focused on the only things that really matter in life: community and carnival. And if you don’t believe they packed a punch, just listen to the Danger Mouse–produced “Chaos.”

Best Album of the New Year

This is the best hip-hop/rap album of so far for the start of the New Year. The CD is worth the money with 3 heat-seeker songs and 5 other good songs. Other than that just leaves 2 okay tracks 2 intro/skit tracks and only 4 bunk songs.
