Great Band, Great Record!

The EGB is one of the best working bands in Boston today. Their live show simply rocks with Springsteen-esque showmanship and soul. On top of that, these guys have musical chops to a frightening degree! Funk music has never sounded so full of life in the city of Boston! If you live in the area, you should definitely check them out. Top notch musicianship, great showmanship, and some of the most dance-able, grooving music you can experience live today. "Fly" is my favorite EGB record...fun, feel-good music that grooves like none other, but there's a lot of nuance in there...little details in the arrangements that you might not catch on the first listen or in a live setting. Standout tracks incluce "Blues Blues Blues", "I Can See", "Gettup", and an awesome rendition of Sting's "It's Probably Me." Grab some of their songs, and by all means...go see them play live!

It barely gets better than this...

For me, nothing beats "I Can See" -- that tune just revs you up, lets you slack a bit just long enough to catch a breath, then revs you right back up again! (Carl's sax solos are fantastic.) Their cover of Sting's "It's Probably Me" is phenomenal, too. If you get to see them play "Blues, Blues, Blues" live, hold on to your drinks because anytihng & everything becomes a musical instrument during that tune. Do yourself a favor and get this CD and then watch how many times that counter racks up the number of times you've played these tunes. Don't say I didn't warn you... Enjoy!

these cats got soul

I first saw EGB at the Baz Bar in St. Barths & they blew me away with renditions of Stevie Wonder, Joe Cocker, and Ray Charles. This album is fantastic and I recommend seein' them live!
