Album Review

First-rate vocals, and great co-production by Isaacs and Alvin Ranglin.

4 ½ 🌟 Pure, Genuine, Caribbean Reggae

I saw this guy years ago in the islands as an American tourist at a 'what was called then' Sunday Beach Party. At 4pm. the Locals had 4-5 Bands / Performers Showcase every Sunday & crowd would pick a 'winner'. About a 80% Local- 20% tourist mix- as it was held at a bar near a couple of nice resorts. This was in the early 80's and this guy blew everyone away... He would hypnotize everyone in the crowd with melodic beats, sound was ok as all sound back then was not super sophisticated like today- but all had a Love/Hate thing for this guy. Love for his effort, pace, and ability to connect widely with the audience he played to- and Hate from other bands - as they knew when he showed up- 15 seconds into a song it became apparent who the winner was for that Sunday. Many songs today both in pop and reggae - he was doing the same vocal connection and harmonics back in 1982 and I remember him as he could deliver any song on a soulful, complete, and memorable fashion. If you like island reggae genre- check him out as he was original, innovative, gifted, and ahead of his time...MJ- Atlanta

Born in the Fletcher's Land area of Kingston, Jamaica, on July 15, 1951, Isaacs arrived in the music business via the talent show circuit, a tried and true formula for many of the island's budding singing stars. Byron Lee was the first...
