Jenny & Tyler sing "For Freedom"

This EP is a covers project. I became excited about it when I reached out to them after I heard their cover of "We Will Become Silhouettes" on a tribute album celebrating the 10 year anniversary of The Postal Service's album Give Up. I wanted to let them know how much I enjoyed their version, and I was told that they were including a remastered version on their upcoming EP album. In addition to The Postal Service, bands covered include the following: Smashing Pumpkins, The Cranberries, Coldplay, Simon and Garfunkel, Louis Armstrong, and U2.

The album starts out strong with "Tonight, Tonight" a cover of the Smashing Pumpkins. It's a great song and is followed by an amazing rendition of Coldplay's the "Scientist" which leads into my current favorite on the album. "Dreams" by The Cranberries, this song was one of my all time favorites from my high school days; and they did a marvelous job in covering it.

"The Sound of Silence" is another solid track that had been released previously, but got a wonderful upgrade with remastering. Jenny and Tyler capture the haunting nature of this song quite beautifully. The final track on the album is U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking for." It can be a daunting task to cover a song by a band that has been arguably the biggest band in the world for the better part of 4 decades, especially when it's one of that band's most beloved tracks. What really sets this track apart and makes it work is that they reached out to their fans and asked them to send videos to be part of a choir used in the song. This was the one track that I was curious about when thinking about this album. I knew that they could pull off a great cover of it, but I wanted to see how it would come out with everything. It doesn't disappoint.

For Freedom has made me an even greater fan of Jenny and Tyler. They have a passion for music that comes shinning through in each track of each album that they've recorded, and they have a passion to help people less fortunate as evidenced by the mission behind this EP. I thank God for people like Jenny and Tyler who use the gifts He's given them to reach out to help people in great need. Do yourself a favor and support a great cause and pick up some great music.

Great Album for a Great Cause!

Jenny & Tyler have been one of my favorite artists over the last couple of years and this release does not disappoint. They take each and every one of these songs and make them their own. My favorites have to be Tonight, Tonight and I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For. It's also awesome that they're donating all the proceeds to organizations that fight human trafficking. So, if it turns out you don't like the music, you still supported a great cause! But believe me, you'll like the music. :)
