iTunes Review

Hard rock muscle and Spirit-filled ministry are inextricably fused on Fireflight’s For Those Who Wait. In the manner of 2008’s Unbreakable, they keep the album’s emphasis on uplifting lyrics and crunchy guitar riffage. Dawn Richardson’s lead vocals maintain an assertive edge without becoming shrill, conveying the right blend of vulnerability and exaltation. Spiritual transformation is a reoccurring theme here, driven home with pummeling force. Richardson sings of her relationship with God in very personal terms at times wandering into Jesus-is-my-boyfriend territory. For those who listen closely though, there’s nothing ambiguous about the God-centered content of tunes like “Fire In My Eyes,” “New Perspective” and “Desperate.” While most of this album is kept at a ferocious pitch, several piano-centered ballads (most notably “Name”) are more intimate in feel. Fireflight doesn’t soar into uncharted zones in these tracks; the band’s message is timeless and their sonic moves are familiar. But for those looking for bracing, arena-sized inspirational rock, For Those Who Wait arrives right on time.

God's love shines through :)

Fireflight's 3rd album deleivers on all fronts. With a powerful opening and an extremely powered ending (irony intact). I have never cried when listening to music, but "For those who wait" put me in tears, in a good way. God's love couldn't be more prominent in this angelic album. Its not as rocky as their first two albums, but their sound is getter much better. Dawn's lead vocals are astounding and the rest of the band plays so beautifully. "Name" is by far (too me) the best song on this speaks to eveoryone no matter who you are wor what you have done we all have experienced a moment of shame or feeling alone. And "Name" tells you that God is always there and he sees your face and he knows your name. "For those who wait" is extremely uplifitng and just like their first two albums is sure to get me through my toughest times. So to all those who need something to beleive in....let Fireflight point you in the right direction.

Fireflight does not fail

I've been counting down the days since there last album came out and stayed up late just to be one of the first to own this CD. Totally worth it. I didn't even listen to the previews to the songs to know I'd love it, and again, I was not disappointed. Fireflight can do no wrong. I may not be Christian, but I know good music when I hear it.

Never heard anything more inspiring

I got the chance to see Fireflight in concert two weeks ago, and i have to say that i have not seen another band that has ever been so Christ centered. With powerful vocals and lyrics to match, this band has been a huge impact in my walk with Christ through some hard times, and to that all i can say is thank you. In reading this you're probably just looking to see if the album is any good, and it is. But there is nothing to compare to the encouragement that this band's music has been to me. Name brought me to tears. To GOD be the glory.

Beginning in 2006, upon signing to Flicker Records after a couple independent releases, Fireflight became one of the most popular bands on Christian rock radio. The female-fronted band's style of rock is fairly heavy, bordering on metal, and is reminiscent of other popular female-fronted rock bands of the time, such as Paramore and Evanescence. The band is based in Orlando, FL, and tours the United States extensively, reportedly performing an estimated 140 shows per year. Founded in Eustis, FL, in...
