iTunes Review

The third studio album by the brothers Garza opens in the middle of a festival friendly jam — like someone dropped the phonograph needle in the median of a mellow Santana solo. This lasts 15 seconds before "Heart Won't Tell A Lie" kicks out a heavy rocking strut that exposes Henry Garza's soulful and versatile guitar playing. He bursts out of the intro with classic tone and his signature funk-blues style that's sure to garner many a Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan comparison. The title track downshifts to a mid-tempo ballad that's enveloped in rich, rootsy instruments and romantic balladeering with airtight sibling vocal harmonies. Forgiven's first single "Staying With Me" grooves with a Latin "Oye Como Va" flavor, but the vocal melodies sound imported from old Stax soul. You can really hear the chemistry of the band; they sound like they've been playing out every night since 2006's Sacred. Balancing tradition with innovation, they're inventing a music culling from blues, soul, country, Tejano, norteño folk, classic rock, and pop.

Melody + Soul + Rock + Roll + Blues = Los Lonely Boys!

Real music that lifts you up and takes you somewhere. You can have the rap/poetry... you can have the angst/emo... you can have the 200bpm/thrash... but if you want some MUSIC that makes you feel BIGGER and BETTER and HAPPIER... then put this on ...put the top down and ... FLY!

being a personal friend of the boys, i knew just how much time and effort they were going to put into this album. You can feel the emotion they boys put into each song and it feels like a piece of them is in each one. Even the catchy/silly "superman" is full of emotion with Ringo singing lead for the 1st time. Each song is a journey and everyone can relate to atleast one of these songs. Of course the boys faith plays a role in atleast one of their songs and the Title song "Forgiven" gives you jusy what we expect from the boys, faith. This is an album for all with blues, pop, acoustic, and of course Texican Rock and Roll

Henry Garza is the most under-appreciated blues guitarist in music today. This band is hardworking and ever evolving and they deserve a listen. This is a Working Man's band...if you're not a fan, give this a listen. It's better than their second effort and every bit as worthy as the first. Keep up the good work LLB.

Hailing from San Angelo, Texas, Los Lonely Boys are a sibling trio whose music draws equally from rock, blues, Tex-Mex, conjunto, and tejano. Such a combination is shaped by the band's three brothers: guitarist Henry Garza, bassist JoJo Garza, and drummer Ringo Garza, Jr. The siblings' father, Ringo Garza, Sr., was a member of another sibling band, the Falcones, who played conjunto music around Texas during the '70s and '80s. After that group broke up, Garza went solo, backed by his three sons even...
