iTunes Review

Judging by his band’s self-titled debut album, Forrest Day is a man caught in the workaday grind, pestered by bill collectors and plagued by self-doubt while trying to sustain an artist’s career on his girlfriend’s paycheck. Mixing twisted apologies with obscene asides, Day’s lyrics catalog his long list of troubles, ranging from the medical (“Sleepwalking,” “Without a Trace”) to the financial (“Baby Shoe”) and the chemical (“Meds”). Widening his scope, he delivers extremely timely critiques of corporate greed and stupidity in tracks like “Hoarders” and the elegantly titled “Everybody’s F@#!ing with My Mind.” As a vocalist, Day combines a rapper’s attitude and flow with traces of jazz syncopation and punk rock angst. His sax playing adds to the twitchy attack of “If U Do” and the comic paranoia of “Meds.” Collectively, Forrest Day (the band) acquits itself impressively with solid grooves and sharp instrumental work. Day’s life may be coming unglued, but with this album he and his cohorts have delivered a coherent (if crazed) first release.

Wow amazing!

These guys are incredible. The first time I saw them I was unsure of what to expect but they absolutely blew me away. It's very hard to put their sound into any specific genre but they have a little bit of rock, jazz, funk, hip-hop, reggae.. They are guaranteed to make you move. Get this will not be disappointed, I promise!!!! Go see them live, too!

In current times with the cookie cutter bands out there playing all over the radio this band is breaking out with a sound that is new and is packed with energy that is loaded with intellectual lyrics. Superb

So happy this is finally out. Can't really categorize the sound, but everyone that hears them wants more. They just need to play SoCal more often. See them live, it's even better.
