Balance of Popular Racing Games in the last 15 years

First off, let me level set and say that I have an attraction to game/film soundtracks. The genre does not matter, as long as I find that balance between sound and scene. A favorite genre of video games of mine is racing, and I cut my teeth on the Need for Speed franchise way back when it was Road and Track.

I feel that this album encompasses all popular racing games within the past 15-20 years (Need for Speed, Grand Theft Auto, Gran Turismo, Forza 1-3, Midnight Club) The music steals the velvety sophistication of Gran Turismo, yet retains the House/Electronic feel of prior Forza releases. Each one of the tracks flows into the next seamlessly, as well as perfect matching with the game UI feel and gameplay. Forza 3/4/5 are trying to become what Gran Turismo has been, yet still retaining the vastly superior driving dynamics and physics quality. Forza has always had the better dynamics, while Gran Turismo has had the superior graphics/sophistication. It is not a boy racer game any longer. It has matured.

This album is the auditory sum of the development teams’ efforts.

Off-Topic: I swear I hear some Depeche Mode/Devo in there too. Props for that.
