Tenderly

I always thought Maynard's studio recording of this in the early 60's was his best work in terms of pyrotechnics and "chops"...But this live version of it recorded later when most (myself included) had thought he was still real great (but still not quite as good as his younger days) serves notice that he was capable of topping even that performance when he really wanted to. AWESOME

Maynard Ferguson is amazing.

We remember him

Maynard's records were awesome. Maynard live was a religious experience. This album captures his essence. We can hear his connection with his audience. We hear his almost primal approach to the craft. This is an organic album. All true devotees need to add this to the collection. You will not be disappointed.
