The REAL American music

Rita Hosking, a former school teacher from Davis, California, writes and sings warm, rhapsodic music some call “roots” or “Armericana.” Her music combines beautiful acoustic sound (she plays in a trio with her husband on dobro, banjo and guitar, and a stand-up bass - sometimes with a fiddle) that tells stores of people, places, and North American cultures that have been displaced and even obliterated (and by that I mean Native cultures and industrial cultures like the logging towns of Northern California, where she grew up).He tale of the Hero is unexpected and forceful. She is an artist worth supporting and seeing again and again.
