Greatest Hits, Vol. 2

This compilation could easily have been packaged as another "greatest hits" volume. It includes the A and B sides of the singles Frankie recorded in the early sixties (pre- Beach Party) when most of his fellow teen idols like Fabian and Annette were still selling records but not ranking at the top the the charts like they previously had done. That doesn't mean there aren't some great selections here. A listen to "Welcome Home" and "Dance the Bossa Nova" will tell you that this single was terribly neglected! Many of the other selections hold there own and can easily be classified as a greatest hit volume 2 candidate.

A Real Winner! An Avalon fan's Delight!

If they've not heard these tracks, this is a solid album that Avalon fans are going to love. Several B-sides are amongst the program's line-up, but every one of them display Frankie's distinct, personal touch and sound better than ever! You won't have to worry about surface noise, skips, and some of the other anomalies of 45s that have been around for years when you're enjoying this line-up. This should be a part of every Frankie Avalon fan's music collection!

Avalon was the first of the manufactured teen idols, before Fabian and Bobby Rydell and the myriad of other pretenders to the throne who worked the turf with tight black pants and red, red sweaters to the fore while Elvis cooled his heels in Germany. In the late '50s and early '60s, post-Twist and pre-Beatles, these generally untalented...
