Four tracks, each one amazing.
From Beyond the Grave is one of those rare releases where it seems like every track is anthem-quality material. When it comes to Counterstrike, or even dark/hard drum and bass,it can't get any better than this. Counterstrike is truly one of the most prolific duos of their time. They've not only managed to create their own unique sound, but practically make an artform out of it.
Draco is pretty much the perfect hardcore track. Eerie, creepy, evil intro (the build up is perfect to a tee), then an amazing drop, massive Counterstrike bass, drum programming that will turn your mind into an omlet, and that's just for starters. Maniac comes up next, funky and fresh Counterstrike style. The song isn't as bombastic as Draco, but that's what makes it so good. It's a nice pullback, but it still forces you to get up and groove (or bang your head as may more be the case). TZA did an excellent job of remixing can't let go, preserving the track's original beauty and flavor whilst adding his own, more techy edge to it. The remix sounds almost like Marc Caro (aka Tech Itch) took his hand to it, which makes it all that more enjoyable. Don't think that this EP is going out with a whimper though. Killing Machine has the biggest bass of any track on the album, and will be shakin' the blocks for miles around. 100% genuine sonic devestation courtesy of Counterstrike and friends.
Well thank you boys, and for such an excellent job, I'm going to recommend the whole thing to any dark-dnb fan out there who somehow has been hiding under a rock for the past year and doesn't have it. Trust me, you'll be listening to it for quite a good while.
