Potent batch of songs following a long absence

This album contains a mix of songs, roughly half of which concern African civil war and the pressing ganging of children into armies. Those songs are sad, but potent, and contain some jaw-droppingly beautiful singing by Oryema. The rest of the songs lighten the record, but are also solid songs. As a long-time fan, I’d confidently declare this Oryema’s strongest record since Beat the Border. Note that he's in folk-rock/rock band mode here: don’t expect much kalimba playing or African instrumentation.
