From the Streetz of California

Big Tone has been repping for California's East Bay for several years through his own solo albums and others from his independent label Sav It Out Records. From The Streetz of California is his fifth album, and continues his focus on grinding in the hood, stacking mad money, and dominating the rap game. The production, provided by Kev Knocks and Sean T, comes with glutinous basslines and squealing synths that bring to mind that classic ‘90s G-Funk vibe. "Don't Stop the Rock" is kind of like an 80's flashback, the extra-mellow "Let's Chill" plays like an updated Bay Area version of "It Was A Good Day," while "Smobbin" and "Mobb Muzic" could easily be outtakes from an old Spice1 album. Relentlessly funky throughout, Streetz also features collaborations with the homies Johnny Boy, Tito B, Shadow, and Laced.
