Truly, life is better when you sing and shout...just as Justin proclaims in the bright & hopeful title track "Front Porch". What a great way to start this joyous album where one can immediately hear a new sound for the band. On previous efforts, the band had a rock sound and comprised of two more members on electric guitars and drums respectively. This time around, as a trio, the listener will be treated to a band that has been revamped and is sounding better than ever. The group is heard making foot stomping tunes with acoustic guitars, banjo, mandolin, tambourine, shakers, xylophone, and kick along to keep the beat as well as the occasional floor tom drum. Something that can also be appreciated besides the refreshing folk sound, are the wonderful vocal harmonies and well written hopeful lyrics. All three members sing and shine all throughout the album. Not only are they all talented singers but also all musicians in their own right which is showcased greatly on this recording.
*Stand out tracks are: "Love Found Me", "Crossroads"..such a fun sounding song, the life reflecting "Surrender", the worshipful "Savior"
...hey you know what? just get the entire album! NOW. It's all good stuff.
This is a well done, wholesome, and joyful acoustic recording. It is hard not to enjoy this kind of sound. ...Let the music fill your soul.
