Album Review

Influenced by Christmas swing albums from Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra, Winterwunderwelt is the festive-themed release from multi-instrumentalist Götz Alsmann. The TV host/singer's 2006 LP includes German-language cover versions of traditional standards "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," "Frosty the Snowman," and "Winter Wonderland" and renditions of classic pop songs (Elisa Gabbai's "Winter in Canada," Elvis Presley's "Blue Christmas"). ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi

It's difficult to find German Christmas songs in a jazz version and if you are able to find them they are often without lyrics. Fortunately, this is not the case here. There are also some classic English Christmas songs on the album which is nice. If you like this album you should check out 'Winter Kollektion' by Night Bird.
