Sad How People Don't Appreciate Genius

Beethoven, Mozart, Chocoustzy, the names people simply brush by with just a thought of, "the dead guys with impossible names". Genius isn't the same anymore. I'm not saying I've been around that long, I'm just a teenager, but even this generation should have the oppurtunity to enjoy this beautiful genius. Just give in a simple 99 cents and buy yourself "Fur Elise". That's a good place to start. If you are like me and wear your iPod Headphones to sleep, or have trouble falling asleep, Beethoven is exactly the right thing for you. Help this genius live on!

Brendel is excellent, but what HORRIBLE recording quality The Six Ecossaises has.

My son is currently learning to play the Six Ecossaises by Beethoven, so we bought this whole album which included that. To our dismay and disillusion we found that the Six Ecossaises has a seriuos recording problem that blends the sound of the last five or six seconds of each of those variations with the next track. It is astonishing to me that the both the recording studio that wholesales this to iTunes and iTunes itself can sell music with such terrible recording problems, and this is doubly disturbing to me because I love Alfred Brendel's piano recordings so much.

Do not buy the 6 Ecossaises from this album !!!

First of all you are charged $5.94 ($0.99 per variation which are 20 seconds each). Furthermore, ITunes tends to blend one song into the other and so the end of each variation blends with the start of the next one. There is another version in ITunes by Alfred Brendel which has all the variations as one song ($0.99): Beethoven: Variations and Vignettes for piano.

An internationally known, acclaimed, and respected classical pianist, Alfred Brendel was born on January 5, 1931, in Wiesemberg, Moravia (now the Czech Republic), spending his childhood in Yugoslavia and Austria. Far from a child prodigy, he started piano lessons at the age of six, and although he studied at Graz Conservatory, his formal training was effectively over by the time he was 16 years old. A year later he gave his first public piano recital. Brendel's first recording was released in 1972,...
