I wasted the 90s listening to country!!!

I am so kicking myself! I have discovered GLB and Grant-Lee Phillips so late in the game that I have a lot of catching up to do. This I found is an excellent place to start. There are so many good, GREAT songs here like Fuzzy and Truly, Truly. And who ever would have thought a song about a steel factory (Bethlehem Steel) would make the hair stand up on the back of my neck? My God. If you lost a decade like I did do yourself a favor and get familiar with this band and with Grant-Lee's recent work. You won't be sorry.

always a bridesmaid never the bride...

loved this music since the early 90s. saw them open for REM's "Monster" tour and felt like the only one in that sad audience that had won the lottery...G.L. Phillips fuses alt rock and folk for an earthy and solid set of great songs. Like Cash, Wilco but don't like country as a general rule? Then this is for you. Each song is its own black and white film. Listen and see what I'm talking about.

By the dawn of his...
