iTunes Review

On Getaway, Adelitas Way bash out lean, ’90s-style alt-rock laced with nasty attitude. Rick DeJesus has always worn his decadence proudly on his sleeve, but on the desperation-soaked scorchers “Bad Reputation” and “Getaway” the screamer sounds like a weary veteran who fears the walls are closing in around him. Meanwhile, Robert Zakaryan is a true guitar hero throughout; the way he skillfully layers acoustic, slide, and slashing riffage on the stomping “Put You in Place” is proof of just how vital he is to the band’s attack.

Customer Reviews

It's not a horrible album, but its not the same band as before Stuck. It's like Stuck did something to make them play different. Their music lacks the punch that it used to have. Getaway is only a passable album for me.

It's more of an EP than a full album

Just last year this group released an EP and now they are releasing a "full" album that has 5 of those songs from the EP on it. Since there is only 6 new songs it should maybe be listed as EP part 2. I already purchased the EP and now in order to buy this album I am being asked to pay $9.99 or pay $1.29 for each of the 6 songs I don't already own. Not a fan of this move by them, but I'll give it 4 stars for the new songs as they are all pretty good.

Solid album

All Adelitas Way albums so far have had a mix of hit or miss songs...and this time is no exception. My only real complaint is that it seems a bit lazy to release the same 5 songs from last year's EP again with only 6 new songs and call it a full length album. Oh well, it's solid rock music either way. Nothing groundbreaking, but it's still worth a purchase.

Edgy Las Vegas-based hard rock outfit Adelitas Way broke into the mainstream in 2009 with the song "Invincible," which appeared on numerous television spots for CSI Miami and served as the theme song for the weekly World Wrestling Entertainment Superstars show. Formed in the late 2000s by lead vocalist Rick DeJesus and lead guitarist Chris Iorio, the band (which also included rhythm guitarist Keith Wallen, bassist Derek Johnston, and drummer Trevor Stafford) released its eponymous debut on Virgin...
