Getting Ready!

Could not disagree more with the first reviewer. What a treat this song is! Just when you thought you had heard it all, here comes Paul Simon with a fun, creative CHRISTMAS song. Thank you, Mr. Simon. I am kinda looking forward to the Christmas season.

Don't know what he's trying to achieve...

Been a lifelong Paul Simon fan, and I'm all in favor of new direction, but I hope this isn't a trend. After the muddled Surprise album, he had talked of going back to simple, acoustic roots. This is anything but. I'm not sure what he's thinking with the strange background talking here. Uh-huhs, yeahs, etc. It really just sounds like a jumbled mess. If he doesn't want to keep exploring world music, I'd love to see him go back to a style more like Hearts And Bones, or There Goes Rhymin' Simon, or... well, just about anything but this...

Love it, as usual

I suspect faith. I wonder if he is talking about the fist advent or the second? (I disagree with the person who doesn't like Suprise, Suprise is a GREAT album.)

As the 1960s gave way to the '70s and '80s, Simon's work tended to focus on the personal rather than the larger world, but he also expanded his musical palette, and helped introduce many rock and pop fans to world music.
