Album Review

The sophomore effort from Keke Wyatt finds the urban contemporary singer refining her smooth, hip hop-influenced sound to impressive effect. Like her debut, Soul Sista, 2007's Ghetto Rose blends the influence of old-school legends (Patti LaBelle) with contemporary divas (Mary J. Blige), while Wyatt puts her own distinctive stamp on the mix. Ghetto Rose has its share of groove-driven jams, yet Wyatt is at her best with thoughtful down- and midtempo tunes, such as the pulsing title track, a stirring plea for men to respect their women., Rovi

Welcome Back Sis!

People have been sleeping on this sister for too long. With all the gimmicky, contrived non-singing, so-called "talent" getting all the press these days, it's refreshing to add to the list of fresh R&B songstresses, this sister who obviously has a lot to sing about. I dig this girl and can't wait for the new album.

Inspiring Soul Music!

I first heard this song on KJLH radio and knew I had to have it, and I'm so thankful it's available on iTunes. This song is so inspiring and I believe it is "a must listen for all men young to old" on how to treat a woman. This song reminds me of something Babyface would write. It's nice to see KeKe Wyatt back on the scene. I was a fan of her music, and I hope this single is just a taste of what's to come. This is such a beautiful song and much respect to all the ghetto roses out there who deserve to be adored. God is Love!

Wyatt's parents had her singing in church as a child but did not discourage her from pursuing a career in secular music; in fact, they exposed her to a lot of secular R&B at home. When Wyatt was in her early teens, she sang in various female...
