Give him his due ...

Bobby Whitlock has influenced so many and worked with some of the best. He is a natural musician and the real deal. Listen to him perform on this album and you may be shocked by what you have missed until now. Hope they re-release all of his old albums. You can hear some incredible music. he plays every Sunday evening at a pub in Austin, Texas with his wife Coco. Catch him if you can - this is one amazing musician! Read his book as well to put all the pieces together - it's an unflinching look at his life and his influence on the music careers of so many!

Though he's best known as a member of the short-lived but groundbreaking group Derek and the Dominoes with Eric Clapton, Whitlock has had a very impressive musical career. Raised in Arkansas and Memphis, by the time he was a teenager he was playing on many of the sessions at the legendary Stax Studios and was in fact the first white artist signed to Stax Records. With a soulful voice soaked in gospel, R&B, and blues and accomplished keyboard skills, it was only a matter of time before the limelight...
