Finally a new album!!

Gemma Hayes is one of my favorite singer/songwriters. I recommend this album to anyone who listens to azure ray or something like A Fine Frenzy. These songs are bright and gentle, but she has such a powerful way of delivering them. My favorite track is "ghost".

An incredible talent

Gemma Hayes is an artist who continues to perfect her craft with each release. The Oliver EP is no exception. These five songs are exceptional and could place on any of her albums, though they work cohesively and seemlessly here. The longing and melancholy in Hayes' voice continues to be her trademark, but her melodies are so pretty, so precious that you can't help but keep listening. This is a spot on, beautiful listen from start to finish.

Featuring one of Gemma's finest tracks ever....

Classic tune from one of the most criminally underrated artists around ! The new EP features one of Gemma's absolute finest moments in the epic, heartfelt, world weary "November" ; it is absolutely gorgeous and ranks up there with her very best work.Other tracks on the EP are up to the usual high standard, especially "Ghost" and the sweet cover of Jackson Browne's "These Days" but "November" is the standout. Her vocals, lyrics and innate sense of melody set her apart from the rest and she deserves way more acclaim and attention.

While her debut EPs were relatively spare and folksy affairs, her label's legacy came to bear on subsequent recordings, where Hayes demonstrated a proclivity for chilled electronics and swampy, My Bloody Valentine-style shoegaze...
