AMAZING SINGER, MARVELOUS TRIBUTE TO HER INFLUENCES

Wow, what a jazz singer! This is a marvelous tribute to her influences and role models: Sarah Vaughn, Anita O'Day, Elis Regina, Abbey Lincoln, Sheila Jordan, etc… She re-casts songs into her own beautiful, jazzy framework, backed by a great quartet. Kate duets in Portuguese with Kurt Elling on "O Cantador". My HIghest Recommendation.

Charade

I heard Charade on the radio in New York City. What a refreshing concept for another Henry Mancini whimsical melody and Johnny Mercer's set of flowing lyrics. Kate also has a great concept for her group, of organ, guitar and drums, which I can not recall as a group for a vocalist, but this works. I also love the quality of the recording of her voice, which has so little reverb, giving her an actual better connection to the musicians. She projects just the right rendering without the pitfalls of singers allegedly singing jazz. I wish more folks wrote more reviews about the music we enjoy. I know, as a producer what it takes to pull a project off. Buy her music. She is deserved of all she can create.

AMAZING!

Love it! I can't stop playing it!
