The Boss of Italy

An excellent live album with the perfect sound of an album recorded in studio. Ligabue is to Italy what Bruce Springsteen is to the States, classic rock with signature sounds such as a violin, sax, acoustic and electric guitars. His songs, like Springsteen, are about anything from introsepectiveness on his own life, love as a teenager, driving through the country with the windows rolled down etc. Everyone from grandmothers to granchildren listen to him, there's a sound for everyone in his music. This album is simply a live concert/compelation of some his best songs. The first one you should download should be 'Piccola stella senza cielo', probably his most famous with the young crowds in Italy or try 'si viene si va'. Even if you don't speak Italian, you can still rock out to this album ... enjoy.

Great, catchy, down-to-earth music

This album is absolutely beautiful and any music-lover would owe it to themselves to buy it. I began listening to Ligabue at the beginning of 2008, but when I took a trip to Italy later in the year, my love for his music grew exponentially. When I returned to America, I bought this album right away and found that these songs made me feel the same as the ones I'd listened to in Italy. It's like you can hear Italy in his songs. Those likening him to Bruce Springsteen have hit it right on the nose--if you're into Americana or the Boss, you will LOVE Ligabue...

Authenticity, sweat, and electric guitars: these are the ingredients of a recipe that, with very small changes during the years, made Ligabue one of the most successful modern Italian rockers. Born in Correggio, not far from Reggio Emilia, on the 13th of March 1960, Luciano Ligabue had diverse work experiences during his pre-rock years, including farmhand, blue-collar worker, salesman, city councilman, and DJ. Accompanied by a band called OraZero, in 1987 Ligabue won a contest for unsigned bands,...
