Great first CD

I had been waiting for this one for a while. Great female vocalists trio in the vein of The Dixie Chicks and The Wreckers. Great emotion in the music.Glad to see The Shells finally hit the scene the "Written Roads". Looking forward to more great music to come

Great talent, awesome album!

This is an amazing CD! Catchy tunes, but meaningful lyrics. Great vocal quality from three lovely ladies. They have chemistry comparable to the Dixie Chicks, but a sound that is less country and more mainstream, yet unique at the same time. I love this album!

The Shells -- led by Nate Bouknight (aka "Little Nat") -- scored with a Top 30 hit with "Baby Oh Baby," charting for the tiny Johnson label in 1957. The group -- Bouknight, Randy "Shade Alston (tenor), Bobby Nurse (tenor), Danny Small (bass), and Gus Geter(baritone) -- continued to wax impressive 45s into the early '60s without much commercial interest, including 1958's "Sippin' Soda" and 1959's "She Wasn't Meant for Me."
