iTunes Review

This Atlanta-based Christian quintet has weathered the death of their manager and a switch in labels to record a batch of tunes with a noticeable Southern tinge. EA know how to flex their instrumental muscles while testifying to the redemptive power of the Spirit. On “Say What You Believe” and “Burnin’ Through the City,” they rock with a swagger worthy of vintage Aerosmith. Singer Trey Heffingtois is capable of delivering a Mac Powell-like growl, though he is equally capable of smooth R&B vocal moves, as evidenced by “Sad Sad Tears” and “Fire.” From the reassuring “Give You Peace” (co-written with Sara Groves) to the joyous, gospel-drenched “Leaving Here,” the band shows a willingness to test their limits. Faith remains at the album’s core, sometimes expressed explicitly (as in the worship song “Love So Beautiful”), sometimes more subtly (as in the folk-rocker “California”). Well-tailored strings and horns by producer/arranger Calvin Turner add to the impact of this diverse, consistently God-centered release.

OMG! FInally, Christian music that is fresh!!!!

Crazy good album!

This new album release by Echoing Angels is a lot different from what they have done in the past. I love the soulful twist on the new record. I really think there is something for everyone on it. There are rockin' tunes that have great guitar riffs as well as intensely spiritual/worshipful moments with songs like "Give You Peace." I love the new record and the fresh direction they are headed in. If some of these songs don't get radio play, there would be a great injustice to the christian music community. Thanks for the music and good luck with everything Echoing Angels.

Great cd!

Originally called Two Bare Feet, Christian rock band Echoing Angels was formed in 1999 by drummer Jon Poole and bassist Josh Armour. Soon they added singer Chris Peevy and guitarists Shannon Cochran and Jared Lee and their lineup was complete. After years of playing the indie Christian circuit, the band's song "You Alone," began to receive significant airplay in their native Atlanta, enough to get them the attention of INO Records, who signed Echoing Angels (it was in fact...
