Album Review

Robin S.'s sophomore effort From Now On is nearly as accomplished as her debut Show Me Love, thanks to her wonderful voice and the sleek, disco-styled production. Although the songs can tend to sound a little similar to each other, From Now On is infectious and irresistible when at its best.

Customer Reviews

Now this is a SINGER!

Robin's voice is KILLER. She is much more than a dance music diva, much as I love her molten lava vocal style on a good dance groove. Check out her vocal intro on "Shine On Me". Her breakthrough hit "Show Me Love" is STILL being played at the clubs...it is now clearly considered a classic, but I liked "Love for Love" just as much. This album displays her versatility...she seems to channel everyone from Phyllis Hyman to Loleatta Holloway and Thelma Houston. If you love soulful, passionate singing you can't go wrong with this album, which is as good as her first.
