A Nice Quiet Score for Life

I've been interested in Glass for years- so was glad to see the minimalism with piano only. The pieces are markedly "quiet" and pensive. I love the mathematics and repitition, which helps lend a hypnotic quality. Driving with this music is beautiful- Hell, living with this music is beautiful- remembering life with this music- I think it's a very special album- Thank you, Philip. Note- This is the only review I've ever felt compelled to write on i-tunes.

I think Philip Glass is nothing short of genius. His creativity is something that you have to respect whether or not you care for his music. This CD shows his more conventional side, leaving out his more "far out and spacey" tunes your more than likely to hear. His "Etudes for Piano" remind me of the outstanding work he did for the soundtrack of The Hours.

Born in Baltimore, MD, on January 31, 1937, Glass took up the flute at the...
