An Amazing Album

This has rapidly become my favorite album of the past 2 months. Recommended by iTunes “Just For You” selections, they certainly got it right. A combination of Gregorian chant, Native American vocals, South American rhythms, classical instrumentation, and sensibilities somewhat similar to John Jarvis, the ensemble is greater than the sum of its parts. Remarkably, it really works. Just give “Glory Beckons” a listen as a holistic example. There’s a space here which spreads out before you as glistening pinpoints of light reflected off undulating waters. Whether your driving down endless miles of long lonely highways or running off the excess calories, this album will take you away from the drudgery to another time and space where you are part of something different, something bigger, something much more profound.

Enigma meets Moby

The "Gregorian Chant" feeling of Enigma with a Moby flavor. Fabulous melodies that immerse one completely into the flow of the music. Please, Sir, may I have some more?

Very Impressive, Graceful, Emotionally Stirring

After hearing just a few short samples I was sold. I bought the album as a *download*, so I do not have the information that would have probably been available in the insert which would have been nice as a reference. After hearing the CD in its entirety it has been no disappointment! The artist mixes various styles of music including Native American, tribal and Gregorian Chant. The result is spiritually and emotionally moving. The energy flows so gracefully through each song. It is very different than the "monk rock" fad from a dozen years ago, and certainly has a different feel than what Enigma presented in their album that included "new age remix chant". The chants are in Latin and translate to what I know to be prayers from the Roman Catholic Church. For example, "Gloria en Excelsis Deo", and "Gloria Patri". I am not familiar with what the Native American chants translate to. I'm neither Catholic/Christian or Native American, but know the Latin, so I can tell you that the messages in the music are in essence; praise to higher power(s), peace to all people, and affirmation of what our own truth is. The chants do reference God, Jesus and The Trinity. For Pagans, the essence of the messages are the beauty of it. For Christians, I think the selection of prayers used are excellent. The sound and tones and rhythms flow beautifully for any listener whether you care about the aspect of prayer on the CD or not. As ambient music the chanting is no distraction and I am able to continue doing what I need to do with this beautiful music running in the background. The songs average about 5 minutes each. There are eight "regular" tracks and two remixes. It is a lovely set of songs for the price.
