Customer Reviews

completely underestimated...

OK. I saw these guys last week while they were doing a leg of their tour through the midwest. I will be the first to admit that I am generally not a fan of a band that just does...worship music. Not to be cliche, but these guys are DIFFERENT. The band is super solid and the lead singer can flat out SING. I saw MercyMe not too long ago. They are in that vein, but the worship concert with BreatheDeep was way more intense and the way the crowd was involved was awesome. This album caught me of guard too. I picked it the concert and gave it away to my pastor. The CD sounds amazing. So i came and bought this copy from itunes. Sonically...i give this CD a 9. Songwriting. 8. Overall worship experience. 10. Fav Songs: YOU CAME FOR ME. DIFFERENT AND ALL I NEED. All songs need to be heard.

No Sophomore Slump!

Not only does BreatheDeep's second album escape the "sophomore slump" -- it completely eclipses their first release! The band has certainly matured both lyrically and musically over the last three years. One of the most amazing songs, and deserving of its very own review, is Glory Is Your Name. Musically the song seems to draw inspiration from, and nearly samples, Ode to Joy. An appropriate choice as it is more like a poem set against a beautiful mucial crescendo. It even lacks the traditional verse-chorus-verse pattern. It's exciting to see the band reach out and try something experimental. The anthemic title song contains driving guitars and is certain to have you singing and drumming along; We Are, You Are Welcome Here and You Came for Me all have instant replayability. Slick effects and processes are employed but never over used (the cross fade from studio to live performance during All I Need is very well done). The album is well balanced and sequenced. While their may be one or two forgetable tunes here the album as a whole is a complete win.

I feel this album has an incredible anointing on it. All the songs are wonderful, I especially like "Different", it is fantastic!!!! A must have for any worshiper.
