Truly Incredible

I never really grasp the concept of someone disliking a new album from a band they like because it isn't 'what they're used to.' Any other artist in any other art form evolves over time, so why not musicians? Because this album is truly ART. Everything about it, from tones of lyrics, to tones of notes. It's unlike anything we're used to, but in the best way possible. I highly recommend it, but truly listen to the lyrics, & take them to heart. That's what they're meant for.

Ugh

Extremely disappointing. Timelines is the best song. This must be the last album of a current record deal. Nothing close to the brilliance of past releases. What happened?

This IS Motion City Soundtrack

This album has a great combination of pop/catchy songs like True Romance and Son of a Gun in addition to the deeper emotional songs like Everyone Will Die and Anniversary. If you are a MCS fan, you'll like this album.

Two things to add. 1) for the MCS "fans" out there who just want the same old stuff, just put Commit This to Memory on repeat in your iPod. I love Commit as much as the next guy, but a band that just plays similar songs for 4-5 straight albums isn't a good band - that's called being static, and that's not what MCS is. In addition, if you know anything about Justin Pierre, he's not the same person he was during the Commit days. He's more mature now and that makes for different songs.

2) anyone who thinks these songs lack inspiration is plain wrong. These songs are full of Justin's personal trials and triumphs, not to mention the songs relating to the frailty of life and the ever present message to "make it count." this album is very inspired and if you don't think so you obviously aren't reading the lyrics.

One of their best albums, no doubt.
