Editors’ Notes

For more than three decades, rock fans have hoped for the return of Black Sabbath—Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, and Geezer Butler—but few could have predicted the forceful return-to-form of 13, produced by seven-time GRAMMY®-winning producer Rick Rubin. The band that defined heavy metal picks up immediately where they left off, delivering sprawling songs (five of them are over seven minutes) that possess every ounce of the maniacal vitality of their trailblazing work in the '70s. On 13, Sabbath is joined by drummer Brad Wilk (Rage Against The Machine) on such epic songs as “End of the Beginning,” "Loner," "Dear Father," and "Age of Reason." 13 is a testament to the enduring relevance of Black Sabbath's long-running reign.

Woohoo

Now all iTunes needs is the original releases of the first four albums

God is Dead is fantastic

Just heard the exclusive song on Sirrius XM Liquid metal today and have to say it sounds alot like the Black Sabbath we have loved and adored. Long Live Metal

I don't belive SABBATH IS DEAD !

In the days of pop culture radio freindly studio produced pop icons, Sabbath finds themselves fully emersed in a slow melodic tune that is more than twice the length of a hit radio song these days.Veteran rockers Iommi, Gezzer, and Ozzy are clearly not trying to pump out the latest #1 single. This is Sabbath in it's rarest form since the early 70's. Sabbath fans enjoy ! SABBATH IS NOT DEAD !

Black Sabbath have been so influential in the development of heavy metal rock music as to be a defining force in the style. The group took the blues-rock sound of late-'60s acts like Cream, Blue Cheer, and Vanilla Fudge to its logical conclusion, slowing the tempo, accentuating the bass, and emphasizing screaming guitar solos and howled vocals full of lyrics expressing mental anguish and macabre fantasies. If their predecessors clearly came out of an electrified blues tradition, Black...
