Album Review

It wasn't entirely clear if Phoenix-based post-hardcore act Blessthefall could rebound after the departure of frontman Craig Mabbitt so soon after the release of their 2007 debut. Two years on, it appears to have been little more than a minor bump in the road as the band, and new lead vocalist Beau Bokan, take the reigns with more confidence than ever before on their 2009 follow-up, Witness. Featuring a characteristically crisp and taut production by Michael "Elvis" Baskette, the album's sweetly melodic choruses complement a high-flying, metal-edged musicianship that incorporates face-melting fretwork, crushing double-bass breakdowns, and guttural death growls.

Witness,Constellations, and Homesick all in one year. Amazing year for music.

Can it get any better?

I've been listening to BTF for about 4 years now and I loved the sound they had with Craig. I was sad to see him go. Although after a long serach, Beau came on and fit in perfectly with the band. Beau and Jared are phenominal together vocally. The music itself keeps you wanting more the entire way through. Whats Left Of Me and Witness are my favorite songs. Buy this album. I promise you will not be dissapointed!

Surpassed the First album hands down. I bought this album twice, just to avoid the wait for the mail =] Beau is amazing on this album, and Jared is really great on his screaming. My favorite is Skinwalkers.

Guitarist Frisby and drummer Traynor found singer Craig Mabbitt and bassist Jared Warth on the local baby-band circuit and formed blessthefall in early 2004. Following a self-released three-song demo in the summer of 2005, guitarist Eric Lambert completed the final lineup of the band. An increased...
