iTunes Review

A few years into his 80s, and Willie Nelson’s touch is as light and comforting as ever. God’s Problem Child is a mellow, often reflective set of outlaw country and folk that finds Nelson wrestling directly with mortality—sometimes gravely (the touching “Old Timer”), sometimes not (the hilariously straight-faced “Still Not Dead,” as in, “I woke up still not dead again today”). It concludes with a salute to his old friend and longtime duet partner Merle Haggard on “He Won’t Ever Be Gone.”

Willie Still Making Great Music, Not Just for Country Music Fans!

We're glad Willie Nelson’s “Still Not Dead” at 84 (April 2017), as he continues to collaborate with his longtime producer/songwriter/friend Buddy Cannon on his 69th studio album “God’s Problem Child”. The result is a wonderful, introspective journey through Willie’s multitude of musical styles. Whether he’s poking fun at himself with “Still Not Dead,” reminiscing with “Old Timers”, “God’s Problem Child,” “Little House On the Hill”, or honoring the memory of Merle Haggard with “He Won’t Ever Be Gone”…. Willie serves up each song in his style, and still sounds great doing it. This is one of the best albums I’ve heard this year, and sure to see it nominated for a Grammy. Who said smoking pot is bad for you? I guess not for Willie! Enjoy!

Good Country

This is the only kind of country in the world that matters and speaks volumes to my heart. The kind of old country that actually means something. I have always love Willie Nelson, and my grandpa as well. It's just the 'feels' you get when you listen. I am a huge fan of old country, and odd for me for my generation, I know, since I'm 21. But honestly, I can't stand any other country except for the old. The way it speaks to the heart and soul is something that can't be found anywhere else. Amen and God Bless.

As a songwriter and a performer, Willie Nelson played a vital role in post-rock & roll country music. Although he didn't become a star until the mid-'70s, Nelson spent the '60s writing songs that became hits for stars like Ray Price ("Night Life"), Patsy Cline ("Crazy"), Faron Young ("Hello Walls"), and Billy Walker ("Funny How Time Slips Away") as well as releasing a series of records on Liberty and RCA that earned him a small but devoted cult following. During the early '70s, Willie aligned himself...
