iTunes Review

By 1971’s IV, Led Zeppelin had mastered thumping blues, gentle acoustical folk, hard rock, and even pop. Producer/guitarist Jimmy Page had a real ear for sonic textures (like the soaring orchestral crescendo here on “When the Levee Breaks") that changed forever how hard rock would be heard and recorded. Loose-limbed anthems like “Rock ’n’ Roll” dovetail with lilting epics like “Stairway to Heaven," revealing a band at the height of their musical and rock-mystical powers.

This Album is quintessentially the greatest Rock album of all time. Stairway to Heaven is legend, and every song is recognizable. What makes an album great? Playtime! It has been played to death, bought to death, and listened to to death. The reason is because it is good. Even Michael Jackson's Thriller has songs you don't know. This album and songs are taught in music class. Second Best band of all time and best album of all time. Only Beatles are better, but no Beatles album can compare to this.

Even though all Led Zeppelin albums are great, I would say that this and Physical Graffiti were the most successful. I bought the cd a while back, and when I heard Rock and Roll (at first I skipped to that song) I turned up the volume. Do the same and buy this piece of history.

The Best Led Zeppelin Album!

Whatever you may call it (Runes, Led Zeppelin IV, The Hermit, Zoso), this 1971 classic is, without a doubt, one of the best albums ever made! My dad is a huge Zeppelin fan, and got me hooked on them when I was young! He has the Hermit from the inlay of the album tattooed on his left forearm, showing how much of a Zeppelin fan he really is! Anyway, every song on here kicks total butt, and proves that Zeppelin is indeed the greatest rock band ever! Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and John Bonham were all at their artistic peaks when IV came out, and they never backed down after this!

What the Beatles were to the '60s, Led Zeppelin were to the '70s: a band so successful and innovative they wound up creating the prism through which their entire epoch was seen. Zeppelin ushered in the era of album rock -- they refused to release singles off their albums, even when they were garnering massive radio play -- and of arena rock, playing ever-larger stadiums as their ticket sales skyrocketed. Other bands played on a similar field but Led Zeppelin carried a unique mystique cultivated by...
