A Bit Disappointing
While there are some solid moments on this album. It really isn't as esoteric, modal or deep as it proclaims or as I'd like it to be. I was expecting some smoldering jazz tunes akin to Mulatu Astatke or John Coltrane. To it's credit, the album does have a diverse collection of songs, but overall it is a disjointed and lacking. Naturally, the sound quality varies greatly from one song to the next. Highlights include mystical Gol-E-Gandom, lively Neveen and funky No Jive. Ultimately, this is an miscellanea of songs that I don't find myself wanting to revisit.
