Guns and Money

Guns and Money

There are few SA debuts that compare to Guns and Money. Jacques Moolman is a versatile vocalist who can switch from a howling falsetto to a low-pitched croon, seamlessly. The trio’s manically fast riffs sounded raw and controlled, reflecting both the kinetic sound of their live performances and producer Matthew Fink’s studio skills. Influenced by the rip-roaring emotion of Howling Wolf and the psych-rock doom of The Doors, Shadowclub’s 2011 album breathed fresh bluesy life into a scene then dominated by Cape Town's VanFokKingTasties clan–and made them virtually untouchable.
