A Jewel Hidden away in Waikiki

I had the ultimate pleasure of meeting this charming chanteuse at Lewers Lounge in Honolulu on a recent vacation, and I cannot stop listening to her music. My review won't show up as a "confirmed purchase" as I obtained two discs directly from this beautiful sweet soul.

I am enchanted by Maggie's sultry smokey voice and her endearing personality. The title track of this Na Hoku Hanohano award winning album album "Good Thing" immediately took on a significant meaning in my personal life and the standards reflect Maggie's special, personal touch. I can only assume that a life lived in paradise has kept this multitalented woman out of the lime light, but I am hoping more people will soon discover the subtle power of her voice and the warmth of her soul that can only be a combination of "Aloha" and the joy for life that seems to be part of Maggie's nature.

I am plotting and planning our return to Honolulu and in the meantime I will pine away the hours thinking of Maggie, and remembering those times when I was SURE she was singing right at me.... lol...

Maggie is a phenomenal artist currently based in Honolulu, Hawaii. I say "currently" because this CD might force her to move to NYC, LA, or some other metropolitan area where here talents can be shared with more jazz enthusiasts!

From the bossa nova influenced "Things Could Be Better" to the R&B flavored "Cake," this CD has it all. "You Call It Madness I Call It Love" will bring you to tears.

Thank you, Maggie, for sharing your talent with all of us!

Music to My Ears

I fell in love with Maggie’s voice when I first heard her live and had to have her album. Her covers are great, but it’s her originals that speak to me the most. This album is a great mixture of tunes - you won’t be disappointed. Catch her live if you are ever in Hawaii. ;)
