Album Review

With the exception of a lackluster remake of Led Zeppelin's "Good Times Bad Times," Godsmack's album of the same name is a solid compilation of their biggest songs. Considering that the face of music changed quite a bit since their debut in 1997, it's easy to forget what titans of alt rock radio they were in their heyday. Not counting the aforementioned cover song, every one of the tracks on Good Times, Bad Times cracked the Billboard Mainstream Record Charts, most notably the record-breaking, Alice in Chains influenced "Whatever," which lingered at number seven on Billboard for a stupefying 33 straight weeks. Also included are "Speak," "Straight Out of Line," and "I Stand Alone" (all number ones) alongside "Running Blind" and "Touché," from their all-acoustic EP, The Other Side. If you crave Godsmack and you prefer the hits, this one's for you. The bonus DVD includes a 75-minute performance of the band playing an acoustic set at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas.

Customer Reviews

Great album for only $7.99!

Godsmack has come a long way and has a ton of great songs all compiled in this album. 16 songs for only $7.99 is a steal, however if you buy this for $9.99 at best buy you also get a bonus DVD and you can rip onto iTunes at 256, so the better deal is in stores. You won't go wrong either way though, great album.

Godsmack + ten years of fun and music

This CD is so good. The best songs are Speak and Voodoo and Bad Religion...

Great compilation

This a great compilation of songs from Godsmack, with most of their biggest songs. Godsmack is one of the great bands out there right now and hopefully can keep up their good work on their next full album.
