14 Songs, 54 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

Recorded after a five-year break, George Harrison's 1987 album Cloud Nine was a widely acclaimed and successful return to pop music. Working with Beatles fanatic, future Traveling Wilbury, and ELO founder Jeff Lynne gave Harrison the perfect ally for creating some of his tightest, catchiest tunes in years. "Got My Mind Set On You" captures the vibe perfectly—mixing '50s rock with modern production, and Harrison's own energized vocals. "When We Was Fab" is a tribute to his previous band, both in musical form and lyrical content. A total songwriting triumph, this would also prove to be Harrison's final studio album before his passing in 2001.
